Not long ago I was sifting through some old craft boxes of cross-stitching products. It was fun remembering the projects I completed which included towels, baby bibs, magnets, ornaments, and many other fun pieces. Several boxes contained diagrams and unstitched cloth.

But one of the boxes showed some mice intrusion. I sorted through what was salvageable in designs and cloth and then put the box with some of the damaged products out for the garbage.
After the experience and recalling all I had done in the cross-stitch world, I decided it might be fun to pick it up again. I had the thread and the cloth, but unfortunately I didn’t have any tapestry needles that I needed. So I decided to return to the box sitting in the garbage pile to see if by chance there was a needle somewhere at the bottom of the box. When I looked at the very bottom of the box, I came across an envelope with familiar writing on it. It was addressed to me and the return address was my grandmother. The date was October 31.

I opened it up and in it was a cross-stitch card one can sew and put together to mail to somebody. On the design it said, Thinking of You.

Now my grandmother had gone to heaven fifteen years ago. But seeing this card with her handwriting on the envelope, and the message she sent to me, I knew it was a message from heaven from her. And I never knew I had it. I never would have seen it either if I had not gone back to the damaged box and sifted through it to try to find a needle. And there it was, spared from the garbage dump. Wow.

Sometimes you never know what your steps in life will be. But realize that your steps are ordained by the Lord for a blessing. All He wants us to do is walk out in faith what is on our hearts and minds. And He will take care of the rest, and in ways we never would have imagined. Like my grandma thinking of me.
What a great testimony. This gave me goose bumps.
I couldn’t believe I almost threw it out. !
